Summer Achievements

Medaille's Student Government has achieved quite a few things this summer so far. The clubs room was for all clubs even for SGA, but while given the opportunity we moved out of the clubs room into another room just for the SGA members. SGA painted the old clubs room so the other clubs can have a better looking room as SGA moves out. In the SGA room we will have three computers set up with high stools so the members can get their work done in a quiet environment. Also we will be placing a desk just for the President Nick Calandra so he can have all his things organized to run such an amazing SGA. We painted the walls in the new room blue, and yellow and left one wall white. Now that we moved out of the clubs room it will be more usable and accesible for the other clubs. Alot of behind the scene work happened to make the year run smoothly. Most important thing to mention is that our Constitution has been approved by our President Dr. Richard T. Jurasek.

Projects we are working on

In September 2009 SGA is going to Washington D.C. for the four day National Student Government Association Conference. This Conference is a four day event with 50 workshop sessions 40 brainstorm roundtables two acclaimed keynote speakers, and more than 24 intense information packed hours of practical help, reasearch and advice on how to improve our Student Government.

SGA is also working closley with Medaille on a number of projects that are campus wide. We want to make the campus more faster and convenient for the students, while making there busy day at school. The first thing we were thinking of is swipe cards for the vending machines, so that way it can be more easier for the students and that way they wont be late for class. Also getting doors with windows in the main building, to make the campus more safe, by seeing who is coming into the doors.

Volunteer work

Student Government does alot for the students as well as for others outside our campus. SGA Planted Trees it was The Heart of the City of Neighbors on November 8th 2008. Also SGA made holiday cards for the sick and elderly in December of 2008. Every little thing counts for people who are sick or not as wealthy as the rest. That's why as Students who care about our school and community we do as much as we can, giving a thing as simple as a card can open so many hearts. In the spring of 2009 the SGA helped in the efforts of the Saint Judes Club.
