Question & Answers
Q: Senator Anthony Passerino- What future ideas are you looking into regarding BB Vista?
A: Robert Chyka Jr Chief Information Officer- We are looking to move to the next version of BB Vista. We want to move the IT initiative on campus to where it should be.
Q: Senator Christopher Ripley- Is there any way we can move windows and Medaille One together?
A: Robert Chyka Jr Chief Information Officer- It is something we did in the past, but it did not work. It is something we are still looking into. Bb vista has its own portal. We are looking to set up a training program once a month to train students on the new IT website.
Q: President Nick Calandra - Could we look into switching to Windows 7?
A: Robert Chyka Jr Chief Information Officer- IT department is already using Windows 7. I have to make directory changes in order to bring in Windows 7. Windows 7 will be here by the summertime.
A: Robert Chyka Jr Chief Information Officer- We are looking into bringing S.G.A representatives in our bi-weekly IT meetings.
Q: Senator Christopher Ripley- Are we able to have Wi-Fi in the residence halls?
A: Robert Chyka Jr Chief Information Officer The reason why we don’t and why it will be here, is because the network access product that the controls the system has spyware. Students don’t know how to manage their own machines and keep them clean. It pounds the network.
